As I conclude my short but eventful summer internship as my professor's research assistant, I realize that my biggest takeaway that will carry me into not just continuing the same position in the fall but also any academic or professional roles in the future is time management. This summer, I was multi-tasking assistant work and my own independent research project supervised by the same professor. I was handling a diverse range of materials, from the Schizo-Culture conference primary documents to my professor's own writings to books that I am reading for my own research. I needed to understand a large amount of distinct materials quickly without losing sight to significant details. I plan out my week with meetings with my professor, library independent research sessions and time to work on my professor's digital archive. This internship has allowed me to hone on a skill that will carry me whichever pathway I choose in the future.
