Alice and I are sisters. Seven years apart, I scream when she boos at me unguarded and she giggles when I blow a raspberry at her. These small moments of silly gaiety led to my reflection on what sisterhood means for us. Inspired by Tehching Hsieh’s One Year Performance and Time Clock Piece, I explored our relationship through photography, freezing fleeting moments into the forever. Like Tehching’s rope, my white dress connects Alice and I. The lack of colour leaves a blank space for the audience to project their own interpretations of our relationship, while the mirrored design points to the theme of reflection in our relationship, how, like the Yin and Yang, there is a small part of us in each other. Despite our differences, we are connected, by birth and blood.
